ONE AFRICA, ONE VOICE: MT. KENYA NETWORK FORUM’S COMMITMENT TO PAN-AFRICAN SOLIDARITY

GROUNDING IN UBUNTU – RECLAIMING OUR SHARED LEGACY

The 4th convening of the Africa Movement Building Space (MOM 4.0) began with a powerful reminder: “I am because we are.” As delegates from across the continent gathered in Nairobi, the Mt. Kenya Network Forum stood shoulder to shoulder with movements fighting extractivism, climate injustice, and neocolonial exploitation.

  • Our Story Shared: In the opening circle, we echoed the struggles of Laikipia’s pastoralists, whose court victories against land grabs inspire Pan-African legal solidarity.
  • Key Takeaway“Africa’s liberation is tied to grassroots resistance. From Lamu’s deCOALonize win to Niger Delta’s defiance, we must unite against fossil colonialism.”
  • Action Pitch: We proposed a Grassroots COP30 Taskforce—uniting Kenyan, Brazilian, and South African movements to demand “Debt for Climate Reparations.”

“The G20 won’t save us. Our power lies in the streets, courts, and solidarity funds bailing out arrested activists.”

SOLIDARITY IN MOTION – OUR PLEDGE

As we passed the calabash in closing, Mt. Kenya Network Forum committed to:

  1. Pan-African Fossil Fuel Phase-Out: Partner with South African miners and Senegal’s SaveBargny to reject false solutions.
  2. Digital Resistance Hub: Create a platform to share tools
  3. #AfricaForCOP30: Mobilize Kenyan youth to join Brazil’s frontline communities in 2025.
THE ROAD AHEAD

MOM 4.0 proved that “One Africa, One Voice” is not a slogan—it’s a mandate.

  • New Alliances: Bonds with Niger Delta activists, Francophone climate organizers, and G20 resistance leaders.
  • Sharper Tools: Legal strategies, protest art, and a solidarity fund blueprint.

“Until all our people breathe free, none of us are free.”
